San Francisco, CA June, 2011
Améredia, the San Francisco-based multicultural advertising agency, announced today that it won four awards in the Hermes Creative Awards 2011 competition. The agency was selected among 4,400 creative professionals and organizations that compete annually for excellence in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media.
Submissions were evaluated by industry professionals in the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals who look for talent that exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Only about 15 percent of all entries received a Platinum, Gold or Honorable Mention award.
Améredia won a Platinum Award, the Hermes premiere recognition, for a 30-second TV spot that promoted the newly-built, billion dollar Thunder Valley Casino Resort – the largest in Northern California. From a deserted San Francisco Chinatown, the Cantonese-language ad begins by asking "Where Did Everybody Go?" and goes on to show lively crowds enjoying the new resort’s first-rate amenities.
The agency received a Gold Award for the Améredia-branded Moleskine journal, an elegant yet simple and practical self-promotion item featuring the cityscape of San Francisco, Améredia’s headquarters. A Thunder Valley "Gaming Beyond Your Expectations" TV spot and a Forex.com "Year of the Tiger Gift" online advertisement received honorable mentions.
"Améredia prides itself in the creative work of its diverse and multicultural team,” said Améredia Cofounder and Principal Pawan J. Mehra. “We appreciate the support that we received from clients, partners and community members in the execution of the award winning pieces."
The awards add to Améredia’s list of industry-wide recognitions including the American Design, Communicator, Mark, TELLY and National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications’ Excellence in Multicultural Marketing Awards. The agency was also last month named a Fast-50 Asian American Business by the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, following an earlier recognition as a Top Business in America by DiversityBusiness.com.
